Ankara pattern umbrella with vintage Turkish embroidery design

The original version of this design here is from Turkey, where it once was a round metal tray cover made of linen and silk with gilt metal thread in the embroidery. (It was a gift of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Wade to the Cleveland Museum of Art in 1916.) We slightly recolored the design, and digitally restored it into the proper circular shape, then overlaid a dozen of those images to make this graphic.
